Offshore Personnel is recruiting an experienced Site Quality Engineer / Quality Advisor for a major power generation project in Tarbert, Ireland. The package is approximately €90,000 per annum, with flights and accommodation provided.

Reporting to the Project Quality Manager (PQM), you will implement and maintain the project’s quality requirements at site level. You will work with construction and engineering teams, subcontractors, client representatives and commissioning personnel to ensure work meets the Project Quality Plan, approved drawings, specifications, codes, standards and contractual requirements.

This hands-on role spans construction, installation, inspection, testing, non-conformance management, documentation, commissioning and final handover. It offers the opportunity to work on a major international energy project.

Your work

Key responsibilities

Implement and maintain the Project Quality Plan (PQP) at site level.
Ensure inspections and testing follow approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
Carry out site inspections, surveillance, walkdowns and compliance checks.
Witness and verify inspection and testing activities across relevant disciplines.
Monitor material identification, certification and traceability.
Coordinate with third-party laboratories and testing organisations.
Review inspection and test results against specifications and applicable codes.
Identify, document and support resolution of non-conformances (NCRs).
Support root-cause investigations and corrective/preventive actions.
Verify NCR closeout and contribute to lessons learned.
Maintain quality records, inspection reports, check sheets and site documentation.
Work with Document Control to upload and maintain quality records.
Support turnover dossiers, as-built documentation and handover records.
Monitor subcontractor quality and agreed inspection requirements.
Review subcontractor quality plans, ITPs and relevant personnel qualifications.
Attend pre-inspection, preparatory and pre-mobilisation meetings.
Support internal, client and external quality audits.
Conduct quality awareness briefings and toolbox talks.
Promote a proactive, first-time-right quality culture across the project.
Support construction through pre-commissioning, commissioning and final handover.

Your experience

Skills & experience

Proven site experience as a Quality Engineer, QA/QC Engineer, Quality Advisor or similar.
Understanding of Project Quality Plans (PQPs), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and construction/installation quality requirements.
Inspection, testing and verification experience, including material certification and traceability.
Non-conformance reports (NCRs), root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, procedures and applicable standards.
Strong reporting, record-keeping and quality documentation skills.
Experience working with subcontractors and construction teams.
Clear communication, confidence challenging non-compliant work and a proactive approach to preventing rework.

An advantage

Desirable experience & qualifications

Major power generation, energy, EPC, industrial or infrastructure project experience.
Mechanical installation, piping, structural works, electrical installation, or instrumentation and controls.
Welding and NDT, coatings, pressure testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning.
Client-facing quality work and ISO 9001 / Quality Management Systems.
Relevant quality or inspection qualifications.
