For UK offshore installations, the Health and Safety Executive sets out the qualification and experience requirements and publishes approved offshore medic training organisations. The clinical background and registration required depend on the accepted entry route and assignment. A general first-aid certificate is not an offshore medic qualification.
Working environment
Medics may work with limited immediate clinical backup and coordinate with onshore support and evacuation arrangements. Employers assess relevant emergency, remote or occupational-health experience, clinical judgement within scope, record keeping and participation in drills. Rota, clinical supervision and emergency arrangements must be confirmed for the assignment.

Never alter documents or describe supervised exposure as independent competence. Accurate profiles are easier to assess and safer to mobilise.

Do offshore medics also need BOSIET, FOET or MIST?
